The name 'KINA' comes from a sea urchin native to New Zealand and Antarctic waters. Its beautiful green shells are sometimes washed up hollow on New Zealand beaches. If found undamaged these shells are often gathered as special treasures by adults and children alike, taken home and displayed in a favorite place. Their natural beauty is effectively 'recycled' into another beautiful form to be appreciated.

This is how we feel about our KINA clothing. That we are celebrating the natural beauty that exists. That we are utilizing an existing natural resource that would otherwise go to waste. And that we are not creating more, unnecessary waste.

KINA is created in New Zealand. Where everyone is paid a fair living wage. Where the grass is green. And the sheep like to roam. We like to roam there too. Maybe down at the beach. Pick up the odd shell or two...
